Whirl Program Manager

SPUR is hiring for a fantastic opportunity for an individual interested in working with young people to make a real difference in the community.

Program Overview:  The Whirl Program is a dynamic, hands-on initiative that is part of our Enrichment Program. The goal is to engage and inspire the youngest members of our community to give back in meaningful and impactful ways. Through a collaboration between My Brother’s Table, the Lynn YMCA, and SPUR, SPUR facilitates a group of 10-16 year olds to create nutrient dense smoothies that are distributed to patrons of My Brother’s Table. Each smoothie contains a full day's worth of fruit and vegetables with the idea that people experiencing homelessness may not have access to fresh produce and may not have the dental capabilities to eat fresh produce.

The WHIRL program takes place at the Lynn YMCA (40 Neptune Blvd, Lynn, MA 01902) during their afterschool program.

The Program Manager will be responsible for leading this program two days a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 3:00 – 5:30 PM. This includes picking up the produce from My Brother’s Table, working with the kids to make smoothies, cleaning up after smoothie making, and delivering smoothies to My Brother’s Table, as well as any other needs that may arise to facilitate a successful program. There will also be a regular weekly meeting with SPUR’s Enrichment Director at a mutually convenient time.

The Program Manager will be paid for 6 hours each week at $20/hour.

Requirements:

  • Availability on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 3:00 – 5:30 PM
