SPUR Student Success Drive
The SPUR Student Success Drive provides new backpacks and academic essentials to children in Lynn, Marblehead, Salem, and Swampscott who would not otherwise have the supplies they need on the first day of school.

Working closely with local school counselors, food pantry directors, social workers, and other social service providers, we identify children who will begin the academic year without the supplies they need to learn. We use the school supply lists from local districts to determine what is needed by students at each grade level. We ask for the community's help in sponsoring over 600 local children to provide them with all the tools they need to learn.

We partner with Staples in Vinnin Square to buy wholesale, brand-name supplies at a lower rate to maximize every contribution and ensure each student starts the year with exactly the same items as their classmates. Once the supplies are delivered, volunteers join us at the SPUR office to fill backpacks with the supplies each student needs and a personalized note sharing best wishes for a terrific school year.
