Making and Serving Meals

SPUR volunteers prepare and serve hot, nutritious meals for individuals experiencing food insecurity at local shelters.  Providing meals is an easy way to make an immediate, tangible, positive impact on the lives of people experiencing food insecurity.

SPUR volunteers prepare 10 servings of a nutritious meal on their own schedule and at their own pace in the comfort of their own kitchen from a recipe that we provide.  Another group of volunteers then heat, plate, and serve the meals for dinner at local shelters.  These meals are served at Lifebridge's Seeds of Hope shelter and Grace Day Center in Salem, as well as the Recuperative Care Center in Lynn.
